At the moment, the payload is typed as

type Payload = Record<string, unknown> | {
        [key: string]: unknown;
    } | null | undefined;

It is not possible to add a more specific type. It could be interesting to have the possibility to specify a schema and rely on type inference.

(Maybe looking at something like this to accept multiple valdiation libs ? )
