Maybe the tags description on Stack Overflow and GIS Stack Exchange should be updated? I mean e.g. to write that the packages are archived and user should move to alternatives. An account is probably required for this.

I have an account and edited the first; this edit now goes into peer review. Let's see how that goes and I'll do the others as well. @barryrowlingson is possibly behind that process.

I seem to have enough reputation to vote on tag edits but it'll take more approvals to change it, it seems! Anyway, I've approved it. However I rejected Edzer's edit to the "excerpt" since it was just an extra space character!

Have added to #19 and pushed update for Spatial task view, will monitor when the task view is published.
