LDAP not working in 4.1

I just updated to version 4.1.0-2.ubuntu2404

Now LDAP seems not working anymore. I get this message at login:

ERROR
Authentication error: Unable to find user name.surname in base dc=mysubdomain,dc=mydomain.dc=it

Is this related to the existing bugs on LDAP?

I just convert your issue #479 into this discussion as this is not an actual bug, unless I am mistaken.

Since v4.1.0, Slurm-web now looks up the DN of the user in LDAP users branch, instead of expecting the DN to be in the form <user_name_attribute>=$login,<user_base> (ex: uid=$login,ou=people,dc=example,dc=org). For reference, more details can be found in the corresponding PR: #464

You may face this regression if the [ldap]>user_class gateway configuration parameter is not properly set for your LDAP directory. The default value is posixAccount but you may have to change it something like user. Note you can check Slurm-web LDAP settings with /usr/libexec/slurm-web/slurm-web-ldap-check.

Note this user DN lookup behavior is the new default behavior but this can be reverted by setting lookup_user_dn=no in [ldap] section of the gateway configuration.

I missed that last change.
For the moment I just used lookup_user_dn=no to avoid problems on the production site.
I need to study the new improvements and check if they go well with our LDAP, which is a read-only DB-based LDAP.
