Starting with TorBox v.0.5.2, we will get OBFS4 bridges using the moat distributor and deliver 1-3 bridges. So far, the responsible script fetched https://bridges.torproject.org/bridges?transport=obfs4, solved the Captcha and gave one bridge only. Unfortunately, that's not the proper way to get bridges from the Tor Project, and if they change the bridge page's content, the script may not be able to get an OBFS4 bridge anymore. Also, with the worldwide tightening censorship situation, especially in Russia, most probably the already integrated OBFS4 bridges in TorBox, and only one new OBFS4 bridge line from the Tor Project will not help enough people in the affected countries. For that reason, version 2 of the responsible script uses moat to get new OBFS4 bridges.
The moat distributor is an API that clients use to get bridges and circumvention settings. Clients must use domain fronting to avoid censorship when connecting to the API. In the case of TorBox, the user has to use snowflake or meek to get more bridges.
It is not easy to find up-to-date documentation about the detailed function of the moat distributor and how to correctly implement it into a program because most search engine results covers old info. The right place to look for detailed information is here: https://gitlab.torproject.org/meskio/rdsys/-/blob/doc_moat_api/doc/moat.md
