No way to manually add blacklist site entries.

There are some sites that immediately lock up the browser with fake virus alerts, so I don't actually want to have to navigate to the site just to add it to the blacklist - there should be a way for the user to type in site names and/or site name wildcards.

Blocking popup sites sites is not the intended use of the extension, you should use a site blocker like uBlock Origin or Ad Block Plus
