Opening a bookmark collection that contains an entry for a site using client certificates will trigger the certificate selection UI. This happens in the web app and the extensions in (at least) Chrome and Edge.

This also happens if the broken link check is disabled:

I do not understand, can you share more details?

When I open a bookmark folder that contains a bookmark for a page that requires a client certificate for authentication, the browser pops up the window for selecting that client certificate. This is of course very disruptive.

I thought that Raindrop's feature to periodically check the bookmarked pages for continued existence could have something to do with it, so I disabled that, but I still get the client certificate UI.

The only way to get around it is to configure the browser to automatically select the certificate to use. However, when there is a site I do not want my browser to just arbitrarily pick the certificate to send to, and I have that site in Raindrop, the experience is not good.

No it's not related to broken links. Can you share URL of such bookmark?
