To build the Rancher Desktop environment, I installed the exe file from the Top page. When I run Rancher.Desktop.Setup.1.6.2.exe, I get a message that setup was not completed successfully on windows10. List of self-verified contentsThe page I was referred to
20H2 is a newer version than 1909, so I confirm that it is not a problem.
Confirmation that WSL Series 2 is being used PS C:\WINDOWS\system32> .\wsl --list --verbose
NAME STATE VERSION
* Ubuntu Stopped 2
PS C:\WINDOWS\system32>I would appreciate it if someone could give me an idea of what might be causing this, as the FAQ and troubleshooting pages make no mention of setup failures. |

Does the setup message give any more details as to why the failure occurred? We have been doing some work on Windows installs; perhaps this is related to what you're solving @mook-as? |

Confirmation work after adding environment variablesThe order of the checks I performed is back and forth, but I was able to run the wsl command successfully. The setup itself did not complete, but when I ran Rancher Desktop.exe, it ran successfully! I share with you what's in the log output after the exe file is executed. If there are any other logs of interest, I will share them with you and I would appreciate your comments. |

I had previously made docker commands unavailable on the Windows PC itself, but after running the sugato@NP1389 MINGW64 ~/PrefectSampleGKE (test_sugato)

You appear to be using mingw-w64 on msys2; that does not pull in Windows As for the setup issues, it's unclear what in https://github.com/rancher-sandbox/rancher-desktop/blob/main/build/elevated-install.ps1 is failing at this point; since it looks like it managed to install WSL correctly (Rancher Desktop just failed to find the already-installed |
