[BUG]:Error writing to device during formatting

What happened?

On Windows version 1.9.6. The "use custom" feature in imager used to be very reliable. I've used it once today to flash an image to an SD card but for some reason it's now giving me an error "Error writing to device during formatting". I've tried different cards and seem to have the same problem.

• Yes, I was using OS Customisation when the bug occurred.

If I start programming a Raspberry Pi image to the device and click cancel when it starts writing to the device, then the next time I want to write a custom image it works.
