This was discussed on discord chat before. This is most probably OS limitation, but I think alternative could be that it shows message with GitHub repo to check releases manually. IE version on Vista can't connect to GitHub, but other menus open links in default browser, which can connect to GitHub just fine. This problem also affects FTS.

I think this falls under

* Some features will be unavailable for older systems

But I'll see what I can do
