@dbhavsar76 what happens if a custom cert become invalid ie after valid range expires?? how can the user solve this.. is the ui still avail to trigger a reset??

what about sth after the check failed where the user can click a button saying get more help on the wiki with the url to your wiki post

At the moment, I can only think of showing a warning when the custom certificate is nearing expiration.
I think syncthing automatically generates new self signed certificates when they expire.

Planned Updates regarding custom https certificate

• Add better certificate validation before applying (done in enhancement(custom http cert): Improved custom http certificate and key validation #356)
• Move Custom certificate and some other settings (discussion below) to separate settings screen
• Add support for using encrypted key with password
• Support for specifying path of certificate and key instead of files for auto rotation from fs using syncthing or other mechanism

The Syncthing Options screen is not reachable if st is not running, we can fix that by making the syncthing options screen not diabled when st is not running, the individual options will still be disabled, but we can access the custom certificate screen. Or we can move the custom certificate option to some other screen.

Which sounds better?

i suggest creating a new submenu screen to the settings menu and move the web ui subsection of the syncthing options submenu there plus the custom cert button

then hide the new web ui subsetting screen behind the expert mode option checkbox to clean up our ui for non techy users looking for the first time through the menus :))

mayb also add user interface//open web ui directly to this new sub menu
