Import of Nastran or Abaqus meshes for calculating geometric properties

Is it possible to import a mesh in Nastran (.bdf) or Abaqus (.inp) format and calculate the geometric properties based on the imported finite element mesh?

Hi @permas4edu this is currently not a feature. sectionproperties uses triangle to create a mesh from user defined geometry. There are currently no plans to implement custom mesh formats, however if you are interested in creating a PR to include this I am happy to discuss how this would work with you.
