Please see this PDF for the below 6.x winter release updates:

-Groups UI clean up
-Migrate group administrative features over to new app website
-Create shared ownership of an event by a group of staff (using a hidden, administrative Illinois app group)
-Customization options to choose group modules: Polls, Direct Messaging, Posts, Events
-Admin ability to “pin” a post in a Group
-Direct messaging that mimics texting with no subject line
-Post reactions that mimic Slack (includes a full emoji set and ability to respond with multiple emojis)
-Support for embedding, previewing, and playing inline video content (YouTube, Kaltura, and Vimeo, animated gifs)—not hosting
-designate official university-managed group with new icon

Hi @vburgett I have few questions regarding the changes in the PDF:

  1. Regarding the GroupDetail panel content. By taping on Post/Messages/Events/Polls tab buttons, should we display only the selected content Type (Selecting Post, we show only Posts)? Or we show everything and by tapping the "Posts" we scroll down to the Posts section (As we do now)?
  2. The Setting "Customize group options under Group Admin Settings" - where do we see this order change? Probably for the All tab that we will have in the future ("FUTURE RELEASE (not winter) group feed as all")?
  3. Do we have link with the design (to get the proper font style/padding/images/etc.)?
  4. What should happen when we click Settings -> About this group. Since it's not a tab but bottom sheet button, probably we should open separate Panel/modal dialog with the about info.

@TodorBachvarov below are responses to your questions:

  1. Only show the selected content type.
  2. Customizing the order and/or selection of group content types, changes what a user sees across the top of a group details panel. See circled section of attached screenshot.
2a If only one group content type is selected (starred), the group content type scroll does not display. Example: the Illini Squirrel Enthusiasts group only utilizes "posts." No group content type scroll displays. See attached screenshot.

  4. A separate panel like the attached screenshot

Hi @vburgett, I have few more questions:

  1. Should we show schedule posts Tab? If not, where should we show the scheduled posts?
  2. When the user is Admin we show Manage Members button that I don’t see in the new design.

@TodorBachvarov

  1. Yes, let's show group admins a "Scheduled Posts" tab, as you suggest.
  2. For admins, can we show "Manage Members" in the admin group menu and link the text displaying the current membership number? (see below screenshot)

Thank you!
