We would like to be able to include in the Splunk logs the following requests related to the new 5.1 event registration, attendance, and follow-up survey features:

  • number of events where the “via the app” register feature was selected (admin side of events via app and/or admin website under event registration)
  • number of events where the “via external link” register was selected (admin side of events via app and/or admin website under event registration)
  • number of events for which attendance was taken
  • number of events for which a survey was sent
  • number of follow-up event survey responses submitted

This request may be related to tickets #4451 and 441 .
I am adding this request as the outcome of a conversation including @kpecknold, @knguyenjahiel, @yoonlees, and @cschwin2.

@pmarkhennessy, we are not sure if/how many of these questions might be able to be answered with data that is currently in MongoDB. We are trying to determine if/where it would be appropriate for an API to be set up to get the appropriate data into Splunk vs. if/where it would be appropriate to have fields added to the event logs in Splunk.
