Making the landing page a bit more lively

I was thinking of making the landing page a bit more entertaining by perhaps showing the 3 most recent blog posts or something. What do you think? I think we first had all blog posts on the landing page. I'm not sure why they have been removed at the time, I guess it got a bit too cluttered as the number of posts grew, but now the page seems rather empty and the site appears stale/outdated as there is no hint no fresh content. If we list a few of the recent blog posts that's an immediate sign of recent activity to people who come across the landing page.

Like the idea, and personally I also think that switching to a more modern theme may help as well (I like minimal mistakes)? You can have a splash with the 3 most recent blog posts for example.
