Tag and release a new gem (2.6+ broken from rubygems with ALLOCA_N errors) #170

This change (f0ce1bd) from nearly a year ago is essential to work on 2.6+, but it isn't in a released version on rubygems yet. Could there be a new release of master?

Ryan stated that the project here is no longer maintained.

So it would be up to someone else to work on improving things in this regard.
