Add back deleted backup...

I accidentally deleted a backup from Google Drive Backup.
Luckily, I have a copy of the xxxxxxxx.tar file.
I tried just copying it back to /backup but it wasn't recognized by the add-on.
I tried restarting the add-on as well as restarting ha core but that didn't help.
I also tried turning off (and then back on) generational backups.

So what can I do to trigger Google Drive Backup to 'recognize' the deleted backup in HA (and then hopefully also upload it back to Google Drive)?

I even tried editing data_cache.json and retained.json which I accessed by docker exec'ing into hassio_supervisor and going to the directory /data/addons/data/cebe7a76_hassio_google_drive_backup/ but still didn't show up...
By editing, I mean I added back the missing JSON entry (or at least I did my best) -- perhaps I made a small error somewhere...

Not sure what else I can do since unclear where else the critical data governing which backups to display is stored...
