Alternatively, we could still support valid and these would be areas that support suid. That would require more work though.

I think we should seriously consider ongoing support for "valid", as there may be some use cases where it is desirable to keep a CHOS environment as close as possible to an unmodified source OS installation.

Good point. Then we need some mechanism to disable it. That could be a wild card in the valid list or a module option to disable the check.
