Lift the requirements of 6000 words - it significantly limits the authors

"The paper should be at most 6000 words including figures" - as far as I understand, this means the word counter is processing the raw markdown, which has lots of instructions not related to the text of the article. I believe it also processes LaTeX formulas. If so, this puts the authors in an uneven situation, when the publication requires lots of layout-specific commands, they are counted as text. Please inform me if I misinterpret this requirement.

Do notebooks count?

In any case, I think this is a very limiting constraint, and I propose to increase this number.

The word count does not count code, markup syntax or math formulas. The proceedings committee came to this in 2024 by looking at previous submissions and putting a limit above anything any author submitted (previously it was based on page count). You can also submit an appendix (another file) or other notebook information. These are not counted toward the word count.

The notebooks do not count towards the word count.
