In a new product I'm working on, I'm including links to the blogs of the social media apps I use. I notice that most of them have one. This is why:

  • You can put a title on a post on a blog.
  • You can include links (invariably announcements have links).
  • You can edit posts.
  • Simple text styling.
  • Blogs have feeds.

So I'm looking for the official blogs of the social apps I use -- Mastodon, Bluesky, Twitter, Threads.

If so, what's the feed URL?

Bluesky has a blog, but does it have a feed?

I think this is the official Bluesky blog feed: https://bsky.social/about/rss.xml

Mastodon blog: https://blog.joinmastodon.org/index.xml

For Threads, I think the best place might be the official Meta newsroom blog. Since it is running on WordPress, you can get a feed for the specific Threads category: https://about.fb.com/news/category/threads/feed/

@cagrimmett -- the Thread category feed was promising -- but there's only one post in that category, from July 5, announcing the existence of Threads.

I was pretty sure it worked that way because they've been posting updates on Threads itself, which of course is the right thing to do, unfortunately it's terrible for this kind of stuff because textcasting features aren't there.

Thanks for the help. I will have a demo to show on Monday, if all goes well. ;-)
