First try and some questions

I really love this project and think it has some great potential, as I've not seen any others tackling this niche. I got it all going after some back and forth on the URLs with NPM, but have some questions on things I'm wondering about:

1. Duplication of imports from Immich seems answered by next release addressing this.
2. Importing from Immich album - is it only image by image, or would there be a multi-selection possible - thinking of one travel album I have with over 2,300 photos in? Could be part of [REQUEST] Bulk Upload of Images #645.
3. Immich image imports are not showing the photo descriptions for any photos? Why I ask is that the photo captions help tell the story of the adventure as it unfolds. Created [REQUEST] Show descriptions or captions for each photo #647.
4. Immich image imports not showing locations of photos (neither it seems for photos uploaded from the computer) on the map? The locations really help give context to the adventure as to where it unfolded along a route. Added to [REQUEST] Open in maps for more location items #545.
5. I uploaded a GPX file as an attachment to an adventure, but clicking on it in the Adventure Details only prompts to open it externally. Nothing appears on the Adventure Map? Can check at https://adventures.gadgeteerza.co.za/adventures/7134006d-1a75-4012-8db3-cc680802c977. This may be part og bug at [BUG] Inconsistent GPX File View #519.
6. MP4 videos are not uploading as part of the images? I have managed to upload one as an attachment (that shows a 3D video of a hiking route).
7. HEIC images don't appear. They show as "uploaded successfully" but don't appear in the Adventure. JPGs I see upload but HEIC is a default for many Samsung and iPhones. This may be part of bug at [BUG]HEIC files are shown by default in the file selector and are uploaded but then fail to display #599.

How do you get your images from immich into an adventure. I have mine enabled but no albums or photos show up when I try to access it when creating an adventure.

Hi @IamPatticus, are you able to check the URL for the immich server that is in the AdventureLog integration settings page? Just need to double check that to make sure it aligns with the documentation

@IamPatticus for a normal Adventure there is a Save & Next button at the bottom when editing it, and it then brings up another screen like this that allows the attaching, linking, etc of images:

Can you check the config setting for the url? Make sure it's publicly accessible and ends in /API?

Yes I have it active and it shows enabled. I have tried using just the url and the url I have on my Synology and it ends with the same results of no albums or images show up.

I also suspect then that it has to do with the alignment of the different containers names:ports and domains. The web and server containers both needed domain names in my case to be reachable via Nginx Proxy Manager etc. But I think that is where @seanmorley15 was trying to drill into with you. The fact that what I'm seeing is not showing for you, suggests there is a link broken or misconfigured. Hopefully he can help pinpoint it for you as I spent a good hour to two hours getting mine to align. Then suddenly it worked. I posted my docker-compose in another recent Discussion at #639 (comment) which helped someone else, but our setups all differ a bit.

Thanks....I will look at your docker-compose. I have been working on this off and on for the past few days. From what I see I have set things up properly but if it were proper it would work....I will keep digging into it.

Figured it out, it was a simple little thing.....I did not add /api to the end of my immich url....the directions had me a little confused but after reading again I got it. Thanks for the help.

Thanks for reminding me, I also recall adding that later on during my own troubleshooting. We probably need a IP:port based docker-compose and a domain name via reverse proxy docker-compose example to set it out clearly.

I think where I got confused was when I was adding it from admin panel vs doing it from settings. That is where I had my OHHHHH moment.

@seanmorley15 not sure if you could comment on my original post here so I can just see if I've missed some stuff, or maybe whether I should log feature requests for some of what is missing still?
