D2D is great; it allows backups of a lot of apps which don't usually allow it, and fuller overall backups of the system.
This isn't fully great though, a lot of apps have less efficient rules for backups on D2D; it turns D2D into an all-or-nothing solution, either you get more efficient but more limited backups, or you get less efficient but fuller backups.
My theoretical solution to this is: a mode where backups are done the regular way, however, when apps don't allow backups, use D2D.
