Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
We need to exclude certain packages e.g. httpd or puppet-agent from beeing updated when a yum update runs e.g. Amazon-Linux2 OS startup

Exclude some packages from beeing updated via yum

Obviously there's a puppet module for it

yum::config { 'exclude': ensure => 'httpd puppet*' }

What should we do:

  • Try upgrading to a more recent version of that puppet module
  • Try adding the above piece of code to the config init manifest
  • Add more packages to the xclude list
