unicode problem with subtitles

when i'm watching something via playz media with english subtitles its almost okey but if i try watching with turkis subtitles its not showing the all sentence if there is a turkish letter like ı ü ş ç. is it possible solve this problem?

I do think, that it is not a problem of PlayZ. Please make sure, that your .srt files are UTF-8 encoded.

Even problems with subtitles in Portuguese Brazil, subtitles its not showing the all sentence.
Out of playz-media subtitles work perfectly in the standard UTF-8 on SmartShare, but at playz-media app does not work properly, are cut where it has letters like ç, á, ...

jrstravino, already discussed in the forum. Change the language setting of your TV/Device. If you have set it to English, the none English characters cannot be displayed on the TV. It is a TV "limitation"

Boom5150, thanks for the reply, I will try later at home, currently my TV is setted with the Portuguese language, but I think this will not work, because it is not set in English.
By SmartShare, subtitles work perfectly after the latest firmware available from LG.

Hmm, I just repeated what has been mentioned in forum, maybe not true. Please report if you find the solution, maybe it is the language setting in the app ? Shall also be Portuguese, so the app can call the right unicode table in the tv :=)

Does not really work, the language on TV does not influence the unicode problem of subtitles.
This needs to be fixed in PLAYz, let's wait for the developer.
A palliative is to enable HLS trancoder in app menu options, so subtitles work correctly with accents.

try subtitles that are unicode and have the Byte of Order Mark (BOM) set. In my experience UTF-8 subtitles that lacked the BOM still failed to show properly.

EDIT: To clarify, subtitles should be in Unicode (UTF-8, with BOM) format.
