Exiting the game seems to softlock the game

Whenever I press "just exit," in game, I basically get a loading cursor and the game stays there, unable to leave.

Assuming this is the same issue that I have sometimes then it has has nothing to do with S3SS. I've had the game stall on exiting long before S3SS even existed. Eventually it does close though if you give it enough time. It's like the game is busy trying to do something in the background, but what it's trying to do I'm not entirely sure.
