User Feedback: Claude Code UI usage experience and suggestions

I have been using Claude Code UI for a while and wanted to share some feedback and thoughts.

What I love

• The web-based UI makes it easy to manage Claude Code sessions remotely
• Project and session management is intuitive
• The i18n support is growing (Korean was just added in feat(i18n): add Korean language support #367!)

Pain points I have noticed

1. No new release since v1.16.3 (Feb 2) — there are important fixes already merged (login fix fix: claude code login issues #375, WebSocket refactor Refactor WebSocket context + centralize platform flag #363) but not yet released. Filed Request: Release v1.16.4 with recent fixes and features #380 for this.
2. Performance with many MCP servers — as reported in After adding 13 MCP servers, and creating a new session, I said "Hello," and it took nearly 30 seconds to get a response. #379, response times can be slow. Looking forward to perf: speed up project/session scanning I/O #378 being merged.
3. Would love Chinese language support — as a Chinese-speaking user, having i18n for Chinese would be a great addition.

Willing to contribute

I am interested in contributing to this project — whether it is testing PRs, reviewing code, adding i18n translations, or helping with bug fixes. Would love to hear from @viper151 or other maintainers about how to best get involved.

Hey @jiangqilong41-ops , thank you for using the tool! Refactoring the backend after the front-end is done is a big priority. If you have time, I would love some hands with the backend (server folder logic) while I work on the frontend refactor. The goals for the refactor are this:

1. use typescript
2. have proper folder structure
3. Have functions that are modular, yet decoupled.
4. Don't change the existing used API endpoints as that may break things in the front end. If it's a must and an issue is noticed, share with me the reason for the schema change and we will discuss.
5. Introduce swagger for testing the API's graphically.

Regarding the i18n translation, those have already been merged. 1.16.4 has also been released now.
