Hi Simon,

This is a very useful custom visual for us, however recently we realized that exporting the heat maps from the dashboard to PPT(MS Power Point) is not working properly. After exploring we realized that the custom visuals has to be certified from Microsoft to be able to export to PPT from PowerBI Dashboard.

Just wanted to check if you have any plans of getting this visual certified, which would very useful for the users.

I am sure you must be aware of all this but still for your ready reference I am listing the requirements below:

Certification requirements

  1. Microsoft AppSource approved
  2. Custom visual is written with Versioned API 1.2 or higher
  3. Code repository available for review (e.g., Visual Code available to us through GitHub)
  4. Uses only public reviewable OSS components
  5. Does not access external services or resources
TIP: We recommend that you use EsLint with default security ruleset, to pre-validate your code before submission.

Process for submitting a custom visual for Certification
To submit a custom visual for certification:

  1. Send an email to Power BI Custom Visuals Support ([email protected]). In the email, include the following information:
  • Title: Visual Certification Request
  • Link to GitHub repository where the visual source code is hosted
  • Adhere to the requirements (see above)
  • Pass the code and security review
  1. The Custom Visuals team at Microsoft will notify you when your custom visual is certified and added to the Certified list (below), or rejected with a report of the issues that need to be fixed. It is the developer’s responsibility to maintain an open line of communication with Microsoft and to update their Certified visuals as needed.

You can also browse the below link for further details:

Regards,
Eshwar.

Hi Simon,

I would like to know the updates on clarifications of the latest release regarding Percentages Scaling and etc...
As I requested, could you please look into the process of this custom visual to be certified by MS once you update the latest release of this version?

Looking forward to hear from you.

Many thanks in advance.
Eshwar.
