Can't Install Add on on blender

Not able to install the add on, I go on preferences- add ons - install- select the file( it shows .py file, no zip file) after uploading the file literally nothing happens. I am so frustrated please help.
not able to find a single YouTube video or tutorial matching my issue, maybe it's very dumb mistake, whatever please help!

Hi there,

If you download the "sketchfab-plugin-1-5-0.zip" file from the list of assets, it's a ZIP file, and you should be able to simply select it when installing a plugin in Blender.

There is a PY file and a whole bunch of other stuff inside the ZIP archive, but you shouldn't need to unzip it. I've also attached the ZIP here directly:

It looks like you are unzipping the folder (and possibly deleting the zip file)? if you download the .zip file, you should have a .zip file there, but I'm only seeing the unzipped folder in your screenshots.

When I download, that's all I get. Is it possible it's unzipping the file automatically and if it is how do I get around it?

I suppose that's possible, but I don't know why it would be doing that. You can right click the "sketchfab-plugin-1-5-0" folder and click "Compress "sketchfab-plugin-1-5-0"" to create a new ZIP archive.
