We have code that is meant to figure out which EVR will carry the event codes. Turns out that does not work. afaik, you need to get the first event and if necessary, reassign which EVR to use e.g. for lightStatus which looks at the EVR.
An example is in the new FFB code for cxilv2018, SmallDataDefaultDetector.py
