Website www.smarty.net hacked? #1003
Comments
It looks like this since years :( |
Oh, I wasn't aware of that. Thanks for clarification! I was indeed worried about the security status of this project. Maybe it would be better to take the whole website down and just redirect it to github here... |
I think the maintainers of smarty are shooting themselves in the foot with this website. Smarty is a fantastic template framework. Extremely fast, solid and well maintained. However looking at this website. The first impression of smarty, when looking at this website, is that it's absolute garbage. The website is extremely oldschool and full of spam links. Smarty could grow so much faster with a modern beautiful website. Monetization of smarty could be achieved by offering paid support plans, reoccuring donations (from companies as well), or even patreon or something similar for the open source sector. |
@wisskid Any input you could provide here? |
I'm afraid I don't have any say about the website. |
Who has the control over it? |
The website has been updated some months ago to a responsive and mobile friendly design. The text links were moved from the left side to the right and father down the page out of the way, as suggested n this thread. |
Hi,
there is some suspicious advertise in the news feed on www.smarty.net that looks like spam:
Is this officially placed ads or has the website been hacked?
Best regards,
Lars
