Describe the bug

Using search in ad can sometimes show incorrect prefixes for matched lines in the list of results.

To Reproduce

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. open the Makefile with ad: ad Makefile
  2. search for "init": /init
  3. notice that the prefix of each line of the results (see screenshot below) isn't correct in the sense that it doesn't match the prefix of the line in the buffer

Expected behavior

The contents of the lines in the list of results match the contents of the lines in the buffer.

Versions & OS Details

  • OS: macOS 15.2 (24C101)
  • ad Version: built from source, commit da57f60

Additional context

Not sure if this is a recent thing or not, I just noticed it now.

Interesting...are you able to reproduce with this on lines without leading tabs?

Nope, seems to only happen for lines with leading tabs 👍
