Some folks have asked for Touch ID support when installs require the user to authorize and enter their password (e.g, pkg installs or apps owned by root user). It seems like on macOS Sonoma you now get an option to use Touch ID when using the authorization APIs:
I don't remember seeing this before, so I assume it's new to macOS Sonoma, which I recently upgraded to. You will need to be using Sparkle 2 to get this behavior (Sparkle 1 seems to not have this feature among it lacking other things).
