Bug: `./zero` fails silently on cert trust errors

Description

The ./zero script fails silently when encountering certificate trust errors, making it difficult for developers to diagnose and resolve the issue.

Requirements

1. Make failures loud: Send error messages to stderr instead of failing silently
2. Provide user guidance: Inform users they can use http instead on certain browsers when cert issues occur

Additional Context

• The WSL2/Windows failure mentioned in Slack is not a priority for now but should eventually be addressed for better developer experience
• This impacts the developer onboarding and troubleshooting experience
