Link creation not functioning in MODX 2.2.12 in IE 11

I've reproduced this on two separate sites. Highlighting text and clicking the link button brings up the pop-up as normal but it does not insert, clicking the button clears the modal field and that is all.

I have the same problem and my system is running on modx 2.2.14

I just found a temporary fix for this.
Open manager/templates/default/header.tpl and add to the head-section of the document:

<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=EmulateIE10" />

This way IE10 will be emulated and the insert link function works again.
