Upgrade to new Paypal SDK?

Hi,
I've found this gem that uses PayPal Merchant Ruby SDK but, in their README, there's this warning

This Classic SDK is not actively supported and will be deprecated in the future.
For full support on new integrations, please use the Ruby Rest SDK

Are there any plan to upgrade to the Ruby Rest SDK ?

Hey guys, what's the status on this one? How are you using the PayPal Express integration with a Rails 4 app (spree 3.0) right now? Since the Merchant SDK seems to be deprecated and not compatible with Rails 4.

Hello! this was a long time ago, but the issue is still open. So if anyone finds this useful I made a Spree Paypal REST extension that uses the Paypal REST API Ruby SDK and supports Spree v3.1
