Domain Admin

Hi,

I want to propose the idea of adding a domain admin permission set. This would allow particular users to create, for example, additional mailboxes/accounts, aliases, groups, and lists within a domain.

My use case is that within my family & friends, some have their own domains, and I would like to allow them to manage their domain independently.

There is already an enhancement request for this, it will be part of the multi-tenancy feature.

Unfortunately, I see that this will be planned as part of the enterprise pricing. I totally understand the reason for this but is there any plan to make it available in either a trimmed down version for open source or a pricing plan for smaller self-hosters?
In our case (family & friends) we are having about 15 mailboxes with 5 domains and 2 domain aliases. keeping the costs low is a challenge for such small number of people but having this functionality would make it way easier for a domain owner to manage their own mailboxes.

This feature will be only available in the Enterprise edition without exceptions. You can read why this is done in the Compare Editions page.

However you can still create multiple administrator accounts in the community edition. The difference is that each one of these accounts will have full administrator access.
