Hi,
In most of the examples, THREE.ImageUtils.loadTexture is used as a constructor, although it's not.

The main issue is that It leads to shadowing of the THREE.ImageUtils.crossOrigin property, since this.crossOrigin will be undefined on a new instance.

(and well... it's not supposed to be used as a constructor anyway ;) )
