App sidebar "shrinks" after closing a focus view

Describe the bug

If the app opens a focus view, and the focus view is closed, there will be some missing padding on the right because the app effectively "shrinks" in width after the focus view is closed by clicking the X button.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Have an app open a focus view. Note the app's sidebar width.
2. Click on X to close the focus view.
3. The app's sidebar width will shrink, removing any padding on the right.

Expected behavior
The app's sidebar width should remain the same.
