Build 3072 less stable - black screen #702

Since updating to Build 3072 last night, I've been getting a recurring black screen issue. All of a sudden after doing something in the editor (scrolling, clicking, typing, not sure what), the entire window turns black. If I scroll, the screen elements partially redraw themselves. I have to quit and restart (which is usually followed by an immediate crash). If I have to restart twice, everything works fine.

This issue has always happened since upgrading to ST3, but seemed to have stabilized prior to build 3072. Since upgrading to 3072 last night, it's been happening every 1-2 hours of work. In previous releases, it would happen this frequently, but I rarely encountered this (if ever) in the release I was using prior to 3072 (maybe it was 3065).

I am running Windows 7 x64 with 16 GB RAM. I am also running the latest ColdFusion package.

Which plugins do you use? Does it also happen when you disable some/all of them?

I'm mainly using the ColdFusion plugin, but I also do extensive javascript and css work. The black screen happens every day or two and it's completely random. It will happen when I'm not doing anything except staring at the screen. I'll comment back when/if it ever happens when I'm editing a non-ColdFusion page.

I'm currently using Build 3084 and it's still happening.

@redtopia what he meant was, does this still happen when you disable all of your plugins, or even just some of them? Disabling means adding them to the "ignored_packages" list in your user preferences, either manually or via a Command Palette command. Start by adding all of your plugins to the list (you can get a list by going to Preferences -> Package Settings -> Package Control -> Settings-User), then restarting Sublime and using it for a while (yeah, it'll be harder without your plugins, but try just typing a letter to your mother or something 😀). Heck, you might be able to just leave it running overnight and see if anything happens. If it doesn't, start deleting your packages from "ignored_packages" one at a time, preferably starting with Cold Fusion (make sure you restart). If Sublime doesn't crash when all packages are disabled, and crashes when a package is re-enabled, then it's that package's fault.

It takes a couple days before this will happen, so I can't really replicate the issue the way you're describing. I figured I would submit the report just in case others are having the same issue. I submitted a report on the ColdFusion plugin page too.

ColdFusion issue:

SublimeText/ColdFusion#160

Just happened again when editing a CSS file, though I have about 20 ColdFusion files open and I had just switched from one of them to the CSS file when it happened.

Since no has reported an issue for a while on their setup turning into a black screen with the latest dev & stable builds, perhaps this issue can be closed & a new one made if the problem is encountered again ?

Many things have changed since then. It's very unlikely to be still an issue. Feel free to re-open, If we are wrong.
