Linters report parameters as partially unknown

When using pylance with strict enabled some of the methods are reported as having parameters that are partially unknown.

For example:

Type of "update" is partially unknown

This is because postgrest is not fully typed as of now, reporting the type of the json argument as dict . I'm working towards ensuring that their types definitions are more strict and properly checked in CI, so that the error reporting is better. Right now, realtime, functions and storage are type checked in CI, and I intend to do it to the other packages as well.

Having that said, I'm not sure if enforcing strict in it will be possible in the short term, as it may require changes to the public interface of the packages (= breaking changes). Of course, we're working towards having all packages fully strictly typed in the long goal, but most likely it will span a couple of versions to get there.

Thanks for the feedback, could the type be changed to dict[str, Any] as this should prevent this warning?

Yes. I'll surely change it to that when improving postgrest typing. As I just finished storage, I'll get to working on postgrest right now.

This should be fixed by #1231, which should be bundled in the next minor release.
