"As an ActivityPub user, I can send encrypted DMs to someone just by their Webfinger ID (username@domain), so I don’t need extra addressing to send DMs."

If we build with an abstract protocol on top of ActivityPub, this is satisfied in a pretty straightforward manner.

I don't think it's satisfied by using cruder integrations, such as just using links.
