"As an ActivityPub user, I can see and respond to all my DMs in every client I use, so that I’m not confused if I can’t see them in one (you have desktop and mobile client above, but there may be multiple clients from multiple clients)"

I don't think "multiple clients" means "1 desktop and 1 mobile".
