There is always a slight delay when opening folders or going back to the previous page.

Actually, I feel like every movement has a certain awkwardness to it.

You can speed up single-click to open a folder by:

  1. Tick "Single click activate" in Options > List > Style.

Thank you for your response, but... this isn't quite to my liking, especially when selecting multiple documents.

It’s worth mentioning that the situation I referred to in the question does not occur in Windows 10.

I have Windows 11 and I feel no slowdown when navigating folders, and I have a LOT of folders and files. It's actually my number 1 criterion to choose a files explorer, and when I compared different such softwares, TablacusExplorer was among the top ones in responsiveness.

So there is something specific to your computer that makes Tablacus much slower than for other users. I can't help more than that, I am just a user, I hope you will find a solution, Tablacus is an awesome piece of opensource software.
