The microsecond my cursor touches tree view, or side tree view addons the entire explorer crashes, every time without fail. Everything else is normal. On version 25.1.16, Windows 10.

Disabling tooltips in tree settings fixes the issue, but obviously this is not intended functionality.

Please provide more information for diagnosis:

  • TE info copied from "Help > About Tablacus Explorer"
  • Screen capture of "Options > Tree" with "Advanced" portions expanded
  • Screen capture of "Options > Tree > Root"
  • Screen capture of TE window just before crash

And what crashes? TE or Windows File Explorer?
Which part of tree view is touched? A node, a expand/collapse button or empty space?

Image of what it would look like right before crash, it's not visually any different, my cursor just needs to touch something in the tree list when tooltips are enabled.

TE is what crashes, it instantly reopens itself upon crashing, unless I cause it to crash several times in a row (as it's repeatable by just leaving the cursor where the tree is for me). It doesn't affect Windows Explorer. Everything besides empty space seemingly is causing the crash, as soon as I interact with anything in the list it crashes, but I can hover the empty space. As mentioned in my previous comment, it completely goes away when tooltips is disabled in Options > Tree.

Sorry, I tried hard but could not reproduce the problem at my side.

Some advanced options in "Options > Tree" are doubtful. You can try clearing the checkboxes:

  • Enumeration
    • Storage
    • Navigation enumeration
    • Fast items
    • Flat
    • Checking for children
  • Style
    • No order stream
    • Rich tooltip

Hmmm, I'll probably just leave it as is for now then, and I guess anyone with the same issue who may find this: try to turn off the tooltips!
