Environment

  • TeXstudio: 4.8.4
  • Qt: 6.7.2 R
  • OS: macOS 14.7 Sanoma (M1 arm)
  • TeX distribution: mactex

Expected behavior

When the editor pane is resized while soft line wrap is enabled, either because it is resized or because the whole window is resized, I expect the line on which my cursor is on to not move vertically on the screen. Or at least stay relative close to its original location.

Actual behavior

After the editor pane is resized, the line on which the cursor is will usually be far offscreen. See the screenshots below.

Expected vs Actual (notice line 43 is not visible in the "Actual")
Expected Actual

How to reproduce

  1. Enable soft wrap
  2. Fill a document with lorem ipsum
  3. Resize the window to force the soft wrap to occur
