Linux - fails to login or run a demo #236

on Ubuntu 24.04 x86

Followed installation instructions for linux .tar.gz.
clicked on login - the login window displays for a few millseconds and disappears with message - "Could not login. Could not login"
clicking on any demo dashboad - shows "Not connected" screen
