permission denied when running ./bin/plugins

I was able to create and run this vagrant image but had the error ./plugin: 48: exec: : Permission denied when running the plugin command from the /usr/share/elasticsearch folder.

The problem is on the exec "$JAVA" $JAVA_OPTS $ES_JAVA_OPTS -Xmx64m -Xms16m -Delasticsearch -Des.path.home="$ES_HOME" $properties -cp "$ES_HOME/lib/*" org.elasticsearch.plugins.PluginManager $args command

Any ideas?
