FEATURE REQUEST: convert to Expo app

Are there any plans to convert this to an Expo app? For my purposes I want to use Expo rather than the vanilla cli. I'm trying it myself and running into some weird errors (what a surprise).

I'm actually working on cutting the Sample app into a series of apps. I could create an Expo version.
