Make mock-fs dep injection-compatible

In keeping with good software engineering practices, is there any plan to facilitate injecting isolated mock fs instances? Skimming through the issues, I see many people are feeling the lack of this feature like I am. I'll forego summarizing the complications they mention.

I am mostly just trying to get a feel for where this project is headed. Thanks for your work on this.
