When I put my SSL certificate into /opt/turbonomic/kubernetes/operator/deploy/crds/charts_v1alpha1_xl_cr.yaml, I get the error: error parsing charts_v1alpha1_xl_cr.yaml: error converting YAML to JSON: yaml

It sounds like the file you're using is invalid yaml. Can you try using a yaml parser to check where the error is?
