  • Searched existing issues to avoid creating duplicates.

  • Confirmed that it can be reproduced in built-in themes without customized css.

If it only exists in 3rd party themes or css, you can still report it, but please attach the theme target or the css file. We may not "fix" it, if it is caused by 3rd party themes or css styles that we cannot support.

  • Searched http://support.typora.io/

Describe the bug
Backlinks are not generated for rendered footnotes.

To Reproduce

  1. Create a footnote, e.g. [^1], and at the bottom of the document add its text: [^1]: My footnote.
  2. CTRL-Click on footnote reference to go to footnote. (This is working.)
  3. Observe that there is no character to click to take you back to the footnote main text context.

Expected behavior
I expect to be able to navigate between footnote reference and footnote text like 0.9.9.32 provided.

Desktop (please complete the following information):

  • OS: Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS

Typora Version
e.g: 1.9.3 (current)

It appears this is a document issue, not an app issue. (Other documents on this machine behave completely fine.) Perhaps too many glitches in the doc are confusing Typora's link generation? 🤷‍♂️

Actually ... I'm re-opening this issue.

I have been going through my *.md essays (academic here): SOME have the footnote backlink rendering, and SOME do not. I cannot work out what the difference is, or why some documents "behave" and others "do not". (My work-around for the moment is to use Zettlr. There are reasons why I generally prefer to write with Typora (which is why I purchased a license!), but it's fair to say that Zettlr's note-handling capacity is more developed than Typora's.)

So this is a request for info: if there are limitations to Typora's handling of [foot|end]notes in terms of auto-generated backlinks with the "definitions", that would be good to have documented, at least. Better would be more "robust" (?) backlink generation (I'm no coder!!).

Thanks!
